FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Can I submit incomplete manuscripts?
A: Unfortunately, we can only accept completed manuscripts.
Q: Can I send in a proposal for a book that is not yet written?
A: Yes. However, we will not be able to consider you for a contract until the work is complete and we can review the entire manuscript.
Q: My novel has been self-published, can I submit?
A: Yes, we do accept self-published submissions, providing you hold the publication rights.
Q: Do you only accept submissions from the UK?
A: No, we accept manuscripts from all over the world.
Q: Can I send more than one work at a time?
A: Yes. We prefer it if they all fall into one genre though.
Q: Do you accept submissions from literary agents?
A: Yes. Literary Agents can follow the same submission guidelines. Please state clearly who you are representing.
Q: Do you accept hard copy submissions?
A: No, unfortunately we do not accept hard copy submissions. All work needs to be sent electronically. We do offer a typing service if you are unable to type up the work yourself. This service is not something we provide for free though.
Q: What will help my submission be successful?
A: Ensure your story is original and interesting, and that it falls into one of the genres we cover. We prefer submissions that have already had a developmental edit. As much as we edit your work if we sign you, ensuring that your submission can be easily read and that we can see its full potential is essential. If you cannot afford a developmental edit, ensuring you check your work for basic spelling errors, plot holes, and inconsistencies can make all the difference.
Q: Is there a limit on the length of a manuscript?
A: There is no limit, but industry standards will apply. As such, if your work is too short we will consider it a novella. If it is too long we may ask you to consider making it two books.
Q: How long will it take until I hear from you?
A: We take approximately 3-4 months to answer submissions.
Q: Are you a vanity publisher?
A: No. We are a small independent publisher and publishing service. We review each manuscript carefully and ensure that we can see true commercial potential or identify an audience for your book before we consider signing you.
